The Big Read: ‘The Great Gatsby’

In April of 2009 I was invited by the Florida Center for the Book to give a series of presentations as part of their celebration of The Big Read: ‘The Great Gatsby.’

At the Broward County Library, over three different days, we talked about F. Scott Fitzgerald with Zelda in New York City, with the Murphys in Paris and on the Riviera, and with Sheilah Graham in Hollywood.

We finished off with Fitzgerald and his Scribner’s editor Maxwell Perkins. At each session there were photos, books and clips from documentaries and films.

Thanks to Tara Zimmerman from Florida Center for the Book, and Nancy Ansley from the Broward County Libraries for their great hospitality!
